Southern Crescent Recording Co. is collecting and re-releasing Tom Andes’ two acclaimed EPs of original songs on vinyl. The Ones That Brought You Home will be pressed in a limited edition run of 200 with custom colored vinyl and two remixed tracks.

Tom writes original story-songs about down-and-outs and dreamers, influenced by blues, traditional country, and spiced up with the flavor of New Orleans R&B. The Ones that Brought You Home was recorded in New Orleans in collaboration with drummer Beau Bishop and bassist Stoo Odom.

Tom released his first EP, Static on Every Station, in 2022. “If there is a tune here that could contend for college-radio airplay,” writes Dan Wilging in Offbeat, “it’d be the jangly title track. Besides recalling early REM, “Static on Every Station” is infectious with charge-ahead energy spearheaded by Andes’ searing guitar tones.”

Static on Every Station and the follow-up, Those LA Nights, received airplay on legendary community radio station, WWOZ. The songs on those two EPs were always conceived as part of a larger project, and Southern Crescent is proud to bring Tom’s vision to life on this collected LP.

The Ones That Brought You Home will be available to stream on February 14, 2025, and is currently available for vinyl pre-order with Southern Crescent or on Bandcamp.

Tom Andes

While living in New Orleans, Tom became a regular performer in the New Orleans Americana scene, also playing guitar with Emily Neustrom and the Fried Honeys. As a solo performer, Tom has participated in the Mississippi Songwriters Festival and the Ozone Music Festival. Since moving to Albuquerque, he’s been a finalist in the Monsoon Music House Songwriting Contest and the Telluride Blues Challenge from the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival.

A born storyteller, Tom is also an acclaimed fiction writer who has published in Best American Mystery Stories 2012, with a detective novel forthcoming from Crescent City Books in 2025. Currently, Tom is a working musician. He plays in several bands, gigs solo and with his own band, Delta Stomp, and is writing songs for a full-length record.
